Together with AWWA, AMTA conducts annual membrane technology conferences that are the premier event for membrane technology and its applications in water, wastewater, and industrial treatments in North America. Each year these conferences reveal new directions in water and wastewater treatment technologies, desalting, and membrane bioreactor applications.
These AMTA/AWWA Membrane Technology Conference and Expositions usually are 5-day events, and attendance has grown to more than 1,200 attendees. Each conference includes 100+ technical papers, more than 40 poster presentations, up to 5 pre-conference workshops, at least 1 facility tour, multiple networking opportunities, and a full exhibit hall featuring innovative membrane products and services.
The technical sessions and pre-conference workshops provide attendees information on the latest membrane developments and research. Subjects of primary focus are reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration, microfiltration, membrane bioreactor (MBR). Other membrane technologies also included are forward osmosis, ceramic membranes, and energy recovery.

AMTA is the only industry organization that focuses specifically on membrane processes including reverse osmosis (RO), nanofiltration (NF), microfiltration (MF), ultrafiltration (UF), electrodialysis reversal desalination (EDR), and membrane bioreactors (MBR). The AMTA website offers a wide range of proprietary Fact Sheets and a complete Digital Library of presentations, posters, and papers on all topics related to membrane treatment, membrane systems, and regulatory and compliance topics.
