Membrane Water Treatment Plant Operator Training

Typically considered one of the best available treatment technologies for water and wastewater treatment, membrane treatment facilities are now becoming common place. As a result, highly skilled and trained operators who are knowledgeable in these technologically advanced plants are in high demand. AMTA and its affiliate organizations have recognized this need and offer specialized membrane water treatment plant operator training to provide candidates the opportunity to excel in the field of advanced water treatment through the use of membrane processes.

Water treatment professionals require an aptitude in mathematics and chemistry. Course work in instrumentation and controls, maintenance management and water quality monitoring are general requirements for an operator to become licensed and employed in most states as a plant operator. However, advanced training specializing in membrane processes is now seen as a means in which operators can differentiate themselves and add value to any facility’s operation.

AMTA offers numerous technology transfer workshops each year with a concentrated focus on treatment applications specific to various regions of North America. Meanwhile, operators credentialed with a Membrane Operator’s Certification (MOC) through an AMTA affiliate are now recognized as a prerequisite for advancement in many of the nation’s highly regarded advanced water and wastewater treatment facilities.

AMTA is the only industry organization that focuses specifically on membrane processes including reverse osmosis (RO), nanofiltration (NF), microfiltration (MF), ultrafiltration (UF), electrodialysis reversal desalination (EDR), and membrane bioreactors (MBR). The AMTA website offers a wide range of proprietary Fact Sheets and a complete Digital Library of presentations, posters, and papers on all topics related to membrane treatment, membrane systems, and regulatory and compliance topics.
