This paper is a case study from the City of San Angelo, Texas (COSA) that performance a demonstration-scale pilot study was developed to evaluate the performance of reverse osmosis for radium removal to meet the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality?s (TCEQ) treated water quality requirements. The pilot testing of the RO membranes has been completed with continuous operation achieved at 90% recovery for each. The water quality results indicated good overall rejection of combined radium with permeate concentrations consistently less than 1 pCi/L.
