Implementation Challenges of Seawater Desalination Pilot Plant Programs in California

In September 2005 California American Water Company (CAW) decided to proceed with a pilot seawater desalination program at Moss Landing near Monterey, California. The objectives of the pilot program are to develop essential design data and to test different technologies and design approaches to facilitate the design of a full-scale desalination plant.
