Expansion of the Waynesboro Borough Authority (WBA) treatment system required adding a new ground water source. The existing source water is a reservoir that is easily treated by conventional treatment. The groundwater was high in hardness and required nanofiltration treament prior to blending with the existing source water. This paper discusses the overall design consderations that were required for the upgrade.
