Remote monitoring via Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) of ultrafiltration (UF) is discussed as a tool for gathering system production and performance statistics, monitoring systems for tampering or attack and to diagnose process and equipment problems early before they become catastrophic or cause equipment damage. Remote monitoring is also used once a problem has been identified for trouble shooting and preventative maintenance.
