The aim of this research is to solve a treatment problem of emerging concern by engineering a membrane with multiple functionalities to eliminate emerging contaminants without compromising the permeate flux resulting from fouling. The results of this project will help prepare the water industries for a class of contaminants to be potentially regulated in the near future. If successful, it has the potential to improve, the already versatile field, of membrane treatment technology.
