Design Drivers for the UF and RO membrane systems at the St. Vrain WTP

The presentation will provide an overview of the St. Vrain Water Treatment Plant (SVWTP), a greenfield WTP in Firestone, CO. Presentation topics will include: 1. Overview of regional water supply and the driver for the SVWTP. 2. Analysis leading to an integrated membrane system including raw water quality, bench scale testing, and LC-OCD testing. In short, the total dissolved solids, bromide, and TOC lead to the inclusion of RO. 3. Evaluation of submerged vs. pressurized ultrafiltration. 4. Design decisions including equalization, phased approaches, and backwash to waste routing to satisfies CDPHE’s criteria.
