The San Diego County Water Authority has performed a feasiblity analysis for locating a 50 to 150 MGD desalination facility at Camp Pendleton. Two sites were evaluated for intake design, environmental impacts, permitting requirements, transmission route alignment and cost. The desalination facility is under consideration so that the Agency can reduce its dependence on imported water (State Water Project and Colorado River water)and diversity its water supply portfolio.
