The historic American Membrane Technology Association (AMTA) Chats with the Pioneers includes 36 one hour interviews conducted between 2011 and 2014 with over 100 pioneers in the membrane industry. AMTA has had these interviews available to members for the past few years and now wants to share these enlightening discussions with everyone. AMTA’s Chats with Pioneers can now be accessed by anyone at the AMTA Web page, www.amtaorg.com, at the tab “Publications and Resources”. AMTA invites individuals interested in hearing how the industry developed, who was involved, what were the first projects and challenges and more to view the AMTA Chats with the Pioneers.
Ian Watson interviewed participants who “chatted” amongst themselves, divulging insider knowledge on how many of today’s “standards” came about and the personal and technical challenges of a burgeoning industry. Sadly, a few of the pioneers have passed away since their interview but their words remain behind in the Chats with the Pioneers and AMTA is proud that their insights and stories have been preserved forever.
The American Membrane Technology Association’s mission is to promote, advocate and advance the understanding and application of membrane technology to create safe, affordable and reliable water supplies, and to treat municipal, industrial, agricultural and waste waters for beneficial use. AMTA provides broad opportunities for the exchange of technical, operational and financial information among individuals and organizations interested in membrane technologies. As the leading advocate of membrane processes in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Central America, AMTA is a strong voice for regulatory and legislative reforms essential to the understanding, acceptance and utilization of membrane technologies.
