This paper describes a water enhancement study that will address the concerns of a Surface Water Treatment Plant which is challenged during dry weather periods to maintain MCL’s due to concerns of TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) and sulfates. Engineers developed different scenarios, to include surface water membrane technologies, river bank filtration, different softening technologies and permitting and financial project forecasting and planning, for TDS and sulfate removal from the raw water supplies. Also included in this study was an investigation of ground water wells as a supplemental water source during dry weather periods.
