The purpose of this paper is to introduce and demonstrate the unique technology of ozone pretreatment for ultrafiltration (UF) and reverse osmosis (RO) membranes and the stable operating performance of the membrane filtration plant. The ozone adjustment proves to have good tolerance towards the fluctuation of the iron and manganese issues associated with the surface water. Combined with the excellent chemical capability of the UF and RO systems, the Emmons County water treatment plant has successfully provided clean and tasty water for the local farming community to fulfill the true ?Quality On Tap? mission.
