Expansion of the City of Delaware’s existing lime-softening water treatment plant with UF/RO in order to address THM formation and other removal considerations are discussed in this paper. The surface water RO will remove TOC, atrazine, nitrates and herbicides which eliminates the need for GAC from the existing plant. A case study comparing the lime softening and UF/RO process is presented.
