Research conducted to determine optimal design factors for draw solution recovery in foward osmosis treatment systems. To capitalize on the energy efficiencies of foward osmosis the design of the draw solution recovery reverse osmosis desalting needs to be as efficient as possible. The paper reports on simulations to best design foward osmosis and reverse osmosis systems as compared to a design of a single reverse osmosis system.
