The new Brunswick, NJ WTP consisted of 2 treatment trains. Train 1 utilized gravity filters and Train 2 included pressure filters. The pressure filters were no longer meeting filter turbidity effluent requirements. Membranes were selected as an appropriate technology because they could be installed without disrupting Train 1 operations. 3- units were pilot tested (X-flow, Zenon, Memcor CMF-S). All units met pilot testing criteria. Memcor system was chosen for ease of operation. Membrane system has exceeded owners expectations after 2 -years LRV is consistently above 4.5 with minimal fiber repairs.
