Wastewater reuse has not been explored traditionally in the water rich north eastern US. However, as some utilities are approaching limits of their supply, reuse is becoming a more attractive option for some purposes. Because reuse has not been implemented in this area, the state of Connecticut is relying on reuse guidelines from Florida. One of the biggest hurdles to overcome was finding customers to use the recycled water. The best option was make up water for boilers.
