This paper reviews the forms of corrosion that are commonly found in membrane treatment facilities and discusses considerations for the proper selection of materials in either a design or a maintenance replacement scenario. This paper also addresses specific causes and remedies for corrosion in the disinfection clearwells and post treatment structures that are commonly used in Reverse osmosis and Nanofiltration membrane water treatment facilities.
