Incorporating Anti-Microbial Chemical Loaded Nano-Carriers in Thin Film Composite Membranes for Sustainable Control of Biofouling

This research paper discusses the development of biofouling resistant nano-composite RO and NF membranes through incorporation of nano-carriers to disturb biofilm formation. Discussed is the nano-carrier nano-zeolite. The papers preliminary results s show short-term anti-biofouling efficacy accompanied by slow release of the anti-microbial/anti-biofilm chemicals and suggest that further research is required.
