The Loxahatchee River District (LRD) was one of the first large utilities in Florida to produce 100% reclaimed water in the 1980s. LRD’s overal wastewater management strategy is to provide high level wastewater treatment and dispose of the highly treated wastewater in an environmentally sound and sustainable manner. The successful strategy of blending NF concentrate with reclaimed water allowed LRD to meet increased demand and has complied with all permit conditions.
