The Rueter-Hess Water Purification Facility is a state-of-the-art treatment plant which utilizes ceramic micro-filtration membranes for pathogen removal. From the commissioning in 2015 to today, many lessons were learned about the impacts that proper pretreatment can have on the permeability of our membranes. We will share some hard learned do’s and don’ts when combining pretreatment processes before aluminum oxide MF membranes.
