This paper reinforces the vital role membranes continue to play in the water industry by showcasing state-of-the-art RO water treatment (12 mgd) and MBR-UV (7 mgd) water reclamation processes at a common site. Highlights include public engagement and outreach for community support, master planning, alternative delivery with progressive design-build, features for making the facility a good neighbor, and operating history for this 108MM dollar facility. True to the paper?s title, the town?s facility shows how membranes ultimately sustain and benefit our communities by enabling sustainable water use, mitigating environmental impacts, avoiding harsh water restrictions, and being good stewards of public resources by managing utility costs.
