The City of Oceanside?s Mission Basin Groundwater Purification Facility (MBGPF) is an existing facility operating at 75% recovery, whereby 75% of the feedwater becomes permeate (product) and 25% is the concentrate (brine) stream. The City is currently piloting the Desalitech process which is anticipated to achieve up to 75% recovery of the Primary RO concentrate stream (93.75% overall plant recovery rate). If implemented full scale, the process would produce an additional 1,168 AFY of potable water and reduce the discharge of concentrate by that same amount (254.5 gpm final concentrate flow).
