Membranes used for drinking water in Iowa is becoming a more common treatment alternative. High pressure membranes are used to remove regulated and unregulated contaminamts such as nitrate, ammoina, and dissolved minerals. Discharge of the concentrate stream can be challenging and the limiting factor in selection of this alternative.
