Moving Fouling Away from Membrane: Microgranular Adsorptive Filtration and Fouling Isolation

Pilot and lab tests were ran to prove effectiveness of HAOPs for removal of Natural Organic Matter (NOM) from surface waters. HAOP can be used as an adsobent in a precipitation method before MF (microlfiltration) or UF (ultrafiltration) or can be used as a precoat on the membrane itself. varying water quality and operational factors like pH and ionic strength were evaluated.
