The complex regulatory landscape for water and wastewater in Ontario encompasses numerous Ministries, multiple Acts and and a seemingly endless array of regulations, guidelines and extra-provincial directives adopted by reference in the legislation. The matter can be further complicated by the introduction of membrane technologies used in regulated water and wastewater treatment systems.
This talk will tpuch on the various process areas where membranes are normally found, provide a “high level” summary view of the regulatory environment, and describe practical approaches which have been employed at operating facilities – mobile and fixed – to ensure the facilities are on the right side of the compliance line.
