Pompano Beach is conducting pilot testing to optimize chemical pretreatment and power costs for replacement nanofiltration membranes. Preliminary pilot testing appears to indicate that operation without acid or antiscalant pretreatment, at a lower feed pressure than previous membranes, may be feasible.
