Permeability and Other Membrane Design Considerations

The main focus of this paper is to address several potential design pitfalls as well as other issues during construction and startup that could affect the performance and operatability of a membrane plant. Detail description of how to select an appropriate membrane permeability during the design and how to properly manage membrane fouling will also be provided.
