This paper presents findings from the City of Gallup’s pilot testing for a surface water microfiltration project from the San Juan River. At a cost of nearly $1 billion, this is a major effort being managed by the Bureau of Reclamation. This paper presents the details of the 2012 six month pilot water treatment project and treatment plant process selection, including the potential use of low pressure membrane filtration.
