MA State regulations stipulate that membrane filtration systems must pilot surface water sources to prove overall performance and treatment efficacy. This study shows the successful piloting of ultrafiltration (UF) for the City of Salem Water Treatment Facility Upgrade. The raw water supply exhibits seasonally high concentrations of iron and manganese, as well as elevated levels of natural organic matter with periods of algae blooms
