Scale Up Issues Associated with Large MBR Facilities

This paper looks at the challenges associated with the design of a larger 12.6 mgd facility compared with design considerations for a smaller facility (less than 5 mgd), and shows how these challenges were addressed. Discussion includes: pilot testing, supplier selection, pre-purchase process, accommodatig for future expansion, using 3D design, considering peaking factors, plant operations and maintenance, integration with exsting facilities.
