Selecting Optimal Well Designs for Membrane Systems

Discussion in detail of various well-based intakes for membrane systems. Comparing the advantages, limitations, complexities and cost for various types of well intake options versus open water systems. Case histories for more the complex Angle, Radial Collector and Horizontal or Infiltration Gallery designs. Vertical wells are the simplest but require favorable geologic conditions. Unconventional well systems are more complex but can: access remote aquifers, enhance induced recharge, minimize footprint and maximize yield from “thin” aquifers.
