This paper will describe the benefits of tertiary ultrafiltration technology, often combined with RO treatment for reuse projects primarily for industrial purposes, to meet the reuse water quality targets. The paper will focus on a pressurized ultrafiltration product with supported outside-in hollow fibers for treating secondary and tertiary effluents from municipal wastewater treatment plants. A case study of a commissioned UF/RO system treating secondary effluent from a municipal plant and producing high quality water for reuse in an industrial plant will be presented, including pilot data, system design and initial system performance.
