The Donna Bay Estuarine System located near Sarasota Florida was identified as a potential source of potable water. This project developed a treatment train comprised biological roughing filter for taste and odor reduction, anion exchange for organics and color reduction, ultrafiltration for particle and pathogen reduction, and reverse osmosis for hardness and TDS reduction to produce drinking quality water from this potential while water source. The treatment process was piloted for approximately one year.
