This paper will present system performance and operational data from the retrofit of an existing Caribbean desalination plant that leveraged the enhanced permeability of nanocomposite membranes to decrease water costs via a reduction in energy consumption In addition, the paper will discuss how alternative system configurations address design challenges associated with the use of extremely permeable SWRO membranes, and how to maximize the benefits of nanocomposite membranes
