This paper focuses on the lessons learned from the first 18 months of plant operation including performance of the pretreatment facility, membrane system fouling, and algae monitoring at the Verdigris River Water Treatment Plant (WTP), located in Broken Arrow, OK. It is a 20 million gallon per day (mgd) ultrafiltration treatment plant that was placed into operation in April 2014. The WTP consists of raw water pumping, two pre-sedimentation reservoirs, a pretreatment facility (rapid mix, flocculation, plate settlers), membrane filtration), free chlorine primary disinfection, finished water clearwell storage and high service pumping.
