We will present on the value proposition of “printed” membrane materials for desalination applications. In particular, we will focus on the polyamide TFC membrane (RO) that can be printed using an additive approach that enables precise control of thickness and roughness. Through this talk, we will emphasize the opportunities that such a manufacturing approach provides to the RO membrane space and demonstrate that the technique works not only for polyamides, but other polymers as well that until now could not be processed into thin enough films onto substrates for desalination applications.
