This ZDD technology involves the use of EDM to concentrate two streams of the RO concentrate, one CaSO4 rich and one NaCl rich. These streams are then combined to precipitate out gypsum. This stream is then recycled back to the RO feed. This method has shown to increase brackish water RO recoveries from 75% to 99%.
