AMTA/SEDA Technology Transfer Workshop
“MBR and Reuse in the Southeast”
This AMTA/SEDA Joint Technology Transfer Workshop in Atlanta will focus on membrane use in wastewater treatment by membrane bioreactors (MBR) and the growing reuse of treated wastewater, usually indirectly but approaching directly in some cases. Attendees will learn about how membranes are being used to treat all types of wastewater more effectively, more efficiently, and requiring less space using membranes. This more highly treated wastewater is now being increasingly reused to augment surface waters, drinking water reservoirs, and recharge aquifers. Topics covered will include membrane bioreactor principles, case histories, regulations, and processes of the future. Reuse topics will include regulations, reasons for practicing reuse, case studies, contaminants of emerging concern, and the concept of direct potable reuse. The workshop experience will be rounded out with on-site tours of two facilities and a networking event for exchanging ideas with others in this industry.
